AlterNet: “Futuristic Web Comic Echoes Reality”
June 16th, 2006Our friends at AlterNet have weighed in with an excellent piece on SHOOTING WAR and the burgeoning webcomic medium. AlterNet contributor Zack Pelta-Heller also talks with Dan Goldman’s other partner, Dean Haspiel, one of the founders of ACT-I-VATE, the groundbreaking online comic studio that blazed the trail for SHOOTING WAR. In real world news, SHOOTING WAR fan and videoblogger Josh Wolf, “who faced a possible jail sentence for refusing to surrender video footage of a July 2005 clash between San Francisco police and anarchist demonstrators was abruptly released from a subpoena by federal prosecutors Thursday,” reports the San Francisco Chronicle. Read Wolf’s comments about what it all means here on my GNN blog The Bunker.
Finally, Monday is the deadline for the 2011 HEADLINE CONTEST. The winner will receive a DVD of GNN’s award-winning Iraq doc, BattleGround, and the headline will be worked into a later episode of SHOOTING WAR. Is that cutting edge interactivity, or what?
