Would you quit making this stuff so real? I have enough trouble sleeping at night as it is.
July 19th, 2006 at 3:23 pm
Oh man oh man oh man!! In case I wasn’t sure before, NOW it’s gettin’ good!!! You guys are rockin’ it. Great to see you the other night, DanG!!! Can’t wait to read week 10.

I just happened to run across this and have read all 9 Chapters in one sitting…wow this is amazing! I can’t wait to read chapter 10! Very realistic…good work

Wow, great job guys! If I’m taken to jail tomorrow can you guys print out next week’s installment and send it to me in jail? I can handle going to jail to stand up for my rights as a journalist, but I don’t know if I can handle not knowing what happens next to my friend Jimmy Burns.
July 19th, 2006 at 5:52 pm
Good luck Josh. We’re actually taking a break next week because of ComiCon in San Diego - but we’ve got your back. See the home page.

Hey Anthony ( and Dan) just heard your great interview on NPR today.
Good job!
I’ve been enjoying this more every week.
I don’t know if enjoy is the right word though.
You know what I mean…

Clicked onto here and I’m really impressed by the topic that you’re tackling and also your approach. I like a lot of things about it but most interesting of all are the predictions that you’re making for us and what you think the outcome will be. Imagery’s getting a lil crazy. Read it all in one sitting too. I’m hooked.
July 20th, 2006 at 12:39 pm
Just read the whole thing this AM while I was supposed to be working.
Beautiful artwork, Dead on extrapolation. Scary smart.
I especially like the little touches like the corporate logos that keep popping up and the approriately aged talking heads on CNN and FOX.

Hi Anthony and Dan.
I´ve read about Shooting the War in a big mainstream brazilian newspaper too (Folha de São Paulo). I can´t wait to read the next chapter.
I found the link that you asked for my fellow countryman, but it´s a restricted area for the subscribers of the aforementioned newspaper.
Anyway, here you are: http://www1.folha.uol.com.br/fsp/ilustrad/fq1707200607.htm
I remember one thing: the author of the article is Eduardo Simões (I think).
My english is so-so. I hope that you can undestand this.
Congratulations for the good job.

If DC or Marvel doesn’t pick you guys up they’re fucking idiots.
July 20th, 2006 at 5:35 pm
If DC or Marvel picks this up, it’s ruined.
July 20th, 2006 at 9:45 pm
Wow, AOL is still around in 2011? Truly distopia! :P
Once again, gents, truly excellent work: I’m horrified and sickened at the future you present, but I can’t help but agree that it’s a likely possibility. I’ll be eagerly waiting on the next installment.
+1 on staying away from Marvel or DC - not only would they ruin it, but they’d never print something that doesn’t have an oversexualized underwear pervert in it.
Have fun at the Con.
July 20th, 2006 at 11:09 pm
Oh my Fuckin’ God! Fantastic work.
July 20th, 2006 at 11:56 pm
You would like to think that after 2010, we’d wise up, wouldn’t you?
The stuff of nightmares, and it looks damn good.
Keep it up.

“There are no civilians in Baghdad”. Lt-Col Crowley is starting to grow on me.
I’ll take the first t-shirt when you print the first one with frame 6 on it.

Is that Maxim issue being held by the spook a legit one or is it a mock-up just like the New York mag several chapters ago? If it’s a mock-up, I’d love to see a close-up of it. Any chance?
July 22nd, 2006 at 1:50 am
Shit. I’m all caught up, I just started reading after seeing the thing in Bloglines. Shit. Shit. Shit. Now I have to wait.
Damn, Anderson Cooper looks fairly well preserved. If I’d been drinking when I read “tens of millions of Americans unable to complain about lost emails or stale potato chips,” I’d need a new monitor. Also, “Homeland Security to answer AOL service calls” gives a frightening new aspect to reports of their ‘retention manual.’ Now that is some scary shit.

Heh, hilarious. Real good stuff your writing here it’s hard to find stuff that’s so well drawn and plotted in the great white noise buzz of the internet. I have to say this was the best chapter so far (This story has it’s ups and downs like every one but it’s mostly up so far). You guys really need to get advertising on the lefty blogs if you aren’t already (No evil corparations you see).

Let’s all help get SHOOTING WAR more exposure. Head for the DIGG site, sign on, and click on the ‘DIGG’ button for this story. It’s currently got 13 DIGGS, and it needs 50 to make it onto the main page. Once that happens, the site goes stratospheric.

Ironically enough there is a real Lt. Col Crowley, an USMC field historian.

Ah, tasty art (especially the bikini clad babe) from chp9. Interesting interview on Lenny Lopate the other day, keep up the interesting work. This is good stuff.
July 25th, 2006 at 9:36 am
That was a wild plot twist. Good stuff. The CNN commentary about the potato chips was really funny, but, as your sister would say, it was totally snarky. If only they would say something like that.
Bangalore. My friend whom lives in Mumbai says it looks like San Jose. Does that in any mitigate the loss? ;)
Good luck at ComicCon.

hmm…very inspired:’)

Still amazing writing, and edgy illustration.
So are you guys going to bring the fun & games of modern day Lebanon/Israel into this future twilight apocalypse?
August 2nd, 2006 at 12:07 am
Wow. I’ve just read all the chapters from start to finish and have bookmarked this webcomic permanently - very thought-provoking and intelligently written. The rotoscoping style isn’t my favourite, but I like what you’ve done with the medium more than any drawing discussions. Pushing the boundary and stating important things is exactly what art is about. Congratulations on the book deal too.

Hi there.
Yep, another Brazilian asking for more chapters…
a friend of mine link me these history and now I´m complete addicted.
Great job, really.

suitacase nuke gets Bangalore, India: “Millions of Americans unable to complain Microsoft has crashed again” - very funny stuff - made me LOL.
sadly this scenario is all too possible. I have no trust our gov’t will have it’s finger on the pulse of whoever can get one - from what little the media actually reports, anthrax or airborne hemmoragic fever is more likely, and probalby easier to produse. kinda scary Brave New World we got here.
maybe if we actually promoted PEACE instead of war, tried to win hearts and minds we would all stand a better chance of seeing our children grow up… I always thought a school is more powerful than a bomb…
WAR SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you aware that it is now afer to walk the streets of Bagdad than to enter an NHS Hospitl in the United Kingdom as a patient. The surge is working in Iraq of this there is no doubt, We need a surge of competence in the Hospitals in the United Kingdom or we will need to ship our most neddy patients to Iraq for safety and cleanliness.

omg. stale potato chips. i used to work for dish network and we had many of our sites in india. i was on the tech side so i of course was not involved with the sales or billing (apoo handled this)… great story lines. props and a hearty woot.

“This image or video has been moved or deleted”
I’ve come across pages like this a couple of times (such as chapter 9 page 12)
It’s rather annoying and leaves gaps in the story, although they may not be a big deal, but how do I know that?
Other then that, great comic series! I quite enjoy it =D
