  3. ool Says:

keep it up guys, it’s going great. although… i would think that if Sameera is devout that she keeps hijab, she would also probably be keeping halal, and liquor is definitely not :P unless this was a deliberate choice to indicate her secular ness in which case foot goes in mouth.

  4. Anthony Lappé Says:

That exchange isn’t clear. We’re going to revise. She is offended when Jimmy offers her the alcoholic drink - but she does take off the halal. She strattles both worlds, in other words.

  5. Rami Efal Says:

You guys manage to pull off an incredible density of narrative and character in only thirteen strips. K e e p i t u p!

  6. Pat! Says:

    damn this is good

i look forward to it every week

  7. George Says:

I get where you were going with the liquor and headscarf — “Look, Jimmy, I’m clearly observant of Muslim traditions, so my taking off my headscarf around you is a dramatic flourish indicating that you had BETTER listen.”

Like if Andy Griffith were to say, “Listen here, fuckstick!” Bet your ass you’d listen here.

  8. FuzzyLogic Says:

    Just one word: Impressive.

    adding to favorites NOW!

  9. Tim Hamilton Says:

Keep it up. We need more of this.

  13. Cynthia Wylie Says:

Just read all five chapters in one sitting. Wonderful, inspiring, a page-turner. Can’t wait to see next issue.

  14. Owen Blacker Says:

Wow. Well, I’ve evidently had (or found) enough compile-time and refactor-time breaks to read all of this this morning. Loving it and looking forward to more.

I love the density of narrative you pack in (like someone else already wrote) and the style of your creative is totally my cup of tea too. Great strip making some great points. Keep at it, guys!

  15. Anubis Says:

This installment brought back the action, but storytelling seemed a little choppy. Overall though, it still holds up with the hard bite I’ll continue to expect.

the art continues to impress the mixed media approach is perfect for this type of strip, as the visual references couldn’t be done any better even if Alex Ross was doing the art chores.

  16. Rita Says:

That is a PSP game of the war, correct?

You’re doing really brilliant work with this. I am going to teach it in a ‘war and media’ class next winter and I am sure the students will love it.

  17. Mark Diaz in Boston Says:

this is really heavy stuff. the work of far seeing socio-political commentaries with the brains to know when to hit and when to just show the right shit. very impressive.
